MAGA Mike Johnson Announces His Intention to Interfere with the Criminal Investigation of Trump

For most of the last month, Donald Trump has been a seen as a pathetic and lonely (and sleepy) crybaby as he attended his criminal trail in New York. During the hearings he sits with his lawyers scowling as the evidence of his crimes is revealed by one witness after another. Then he unleashes his wrath at the press in the court’s hallway with his tediously repetitious complaints of victimhood and the torture of a “freezing” courtroom.

Donald Trump, Congress, Mike Johnson

That changed this week, however, with the sudden appearance of some of Trump’s congressional bootlickers. They have apparently decided that the duties they have been neglecting in Washington because they have no interest in the people’s business, must now be neglected in order to prop up their Dear Leader being tried on 34 felony charges.

SEE THIS: DO-NOTHING CONGRESS? The Republican House of Representatives is the Most Productive Ever (LOL)

Among the attendees is GOP House Speaker Mike Johnson, who showed up with a coterie of congressional Trump-fluffers, and wannabe VP candidates. Trump praised them as his “surrogates” who were there speaking “beautifully” on his behalf. Although he still hasn’t managed to convince his wife Melania to stand by his side. The only thing the presence of these MAGA reps accomplishes is to affirm that Trump is using the trial as a political stunt. He has done almost no other campaigning since the trial began, despite having all his weekends and evenings free.

For his part, Johnson regurgitated the rote Trump complaints that the trial is persecution, election interference, and tainted by alleged biases of the judge and prosecutors. At one point he effectively conceded that Trump is guilty…

In addition to his toadyism for Trump, Johnson also took the opportunity to announce that he intends to exploit his position in Congress to obstruct justice on Trump’s behalf. He told the gathered media that…

“I’m working with chairman [Jim] Jordan of the House Judiciary Committee, and chairman [James] Comer of the Oversight Committee, on measures to rein in the abuses of special counsel Jack Smith.”

Johnson never bothered to reveal what those alleged abuses might be. And he surely doesn’t care that the cases Smith is prosecuting are indictments that were handed down by citizens serving on grand juries. But his intention to assign these tasks to representatives Jordan and Cramer couldn’t be a better scenario – for Democrats. The two of them have been uniquely incompetent in their pursuit of President Biden for imaginary crimes and baseless impeachment probes. Their own witnesses often exonerated Biden, or wound up being arrested themselves for lying to legal authorities.

More to the point, Johnson doesn’t seem to realize that he has no jurisdiction whatsoever over an independent counsel appointed by the Attorney General. The most he could do is try to pass legislation to defund the entire Justice Department, which would cripple law enforcement on other matters such as drug trafficking, civil rights, and terrorism. What’s more, his efforts to defund the police would never get through the Senate.

The only purpose that Johnson has here is to prove to Trump that he is willing to help him to avoid accountability for the crimes he has committed. If he really thought that Trump was innocent, he would let the jury determine that and acquit him. But Johnson – like Trump – knows that he’s guilty and his only hope is some sort of get-out-of-jail-free card, or the phony and unconstitutional “presidential immunity” that Trump is trying to get from the Supreme Court.

SEE ALSO: Felonious Punk Trump Demands ‘TOTAL IMMUNITY’ – Even for Acts that ‘CROSS THE LINE’

What’s abundantly clear is that Johnson, and the MAGA GOP that he leads, have abandoned entirely any pretense of working on behalf of the American people. They have only one constituent now. And that’s Donald Trump. Unfortunately for them, their one constituent may soon be a felon who is prohibited by law from voting. And a fair portion of Republican voters are likely to resent being neglected and choose not to vote themselves. And if that comes to pass, the majority of the American people would ironically owe Trump and Johnson and the Republican Congress a debt of gratitude. Strange times indeed.

Fox News Breaks the Hush Money Trial Wide Open By Reporting that ‘Trump is a Really Nice Guy’

Week five of Donald Trump’s trial for election interference and campaign finance fraud has begun with a bang. The week is beginning with perhaps the most anticipated witness, after Stormy Daniels, of the whole sordid affair. Michael Cohen was Trump’s attorney and “fixer” for ten years before his role in the “hush money” payoff to buy the silence of Daniels prior to the presidential election.

Donald Trump, Wah

Throughout the first four weeks of the trial, the prosecution has effectively built the case against Trump with documentary evidence and testimony affirming his intention to keep his tryst with Daniels secret so that it wouldn’t cause further harm to his campaign. Trump’s defense team, on the hand, has failed to do any damage to the witnesses who have taken the stand so far. And the only thing Trump himself has done is to whine in the hallway outside of court.

SEE THIS: Trump Fixates on Fox News Phonies While Lying that a Gag Order Prohibits Him from Testifying

Meanwhile, Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News, is playing its part in this melodrama, which is to whitewash the most wretched aspects the story as they unfold. Unfortunately, there is little that they can do to erase the harm resulting from Trump’s noxious and unlawful behavior. So they are resorting to lame depictions of Trump as a beneficent figure who is a candidate for sainthood. For example, on Fox and Friends First they gushed…

“Listen to what the witnesses say about Trump and their time working for him. Madeline Westerhout. ‘A very good boss. Very enjoyable to work for.’ Hope Hicks: ‘A very good time.’ Rona Graff: ‘He was fair. I don’t think I would have been there 34 years if he didn’t respect me.’

And then let’s bring in Michael Cohen, the star witness of the prosecution. He said: ‘It was fantastic working for him for those ten years. Was an amazing experience. There were great times. There were less great times, but for the most part, I enjoyed the responsibilities given to me.’” And the Fox News host then added that “By and large Donald Trump is a really nice guy. If you get to know him he’s a friendly, nice, gregarious, human being.”

Seriously? The best that Fox News can do is to peddle the nonsense that Trump – a notoriously noxious individual who is filled with hostility and a penchant for vengeance – is “nice”? Well then, in that case they should throw the whole case out. The appraisals of Trump above are all by his former loyal employees who have already appeared as witnesses for the prosecution. It shouldn’t surprise anyone that they have fond memories of the many years they worked for him. But that only makes their consistently incriminating testimony all the more credible – and detrimental to Trump – because they can’t be dismissed as enemies.

It’s also notable that Fox’s most reliable Trump-fluffers couldn’t come up with any coherent legal defenses that actually argued for his innocence. And neither, by the way, can Trump. So they focus on these irrelevant personal characterizations instead. Never mind that there are innumerable examples of people who have worked for Trump who were later cast out as “stupid, incompetent, liars,” and worse when they were of no further use to him. Further proof of his niceness.

Cohen isn’t the only former Trump loyalist who is now unable to support him. His former White House Chief of Staff, Attorney General, U.N. Ambassador, National Security Advisor, Joint Chiefs Chairman, and an assortment of other administration officials, have concluded that he is a danger to the nation. Even his own vice-president, Mike Pence, has publicly announced that he won’t endorse him.

So these old and no longer held opinions of Trump by his past employees are a truly worthless exercise in distraction. Particularly when they have all now testified against him. But it’s the only thing that Fox News could come up with to counter all the bad legal news for Trump. Look for Trump’s defense to rest on feeble accusations that he is the victim of a “rigged” justice system. Because when all the evidence points to guilt, all the defendant can do is whine. Which this defendant is especially good at.

Eric Trump Admits to Fox News that His Father is Guilty in the So-Called ‘Hush Money’ Case

One of the most striking observations about the trial of Donald Trump in New York for campaign finance fraud and election interference (sometimes referred to as the “Hush Money” case), is the absence of any support for Trump by his family. His wife Melania has not attended a single hearing. And his children have kept their distance as well.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News, Stormy Daniels

That is, until this week. Trump’s son Eric made a brief appearance in the courtroom, perhaps in response to the media reporting that none of Daddy Trump’s relatives have bothered to show up. Of course, they aren’t the only ones not showing up to offer support to Dear Leader. There has been a pitifully paltry parade of Trump’s political supporters, despite his explicitly begging for them to fill the streets outside of the courthouses.

SEE THIS: Crybaby Trump is Miffed that His MAGA Cult Isn’t Storming the Courts to Protest His Persecution

Following the hearing that Trump spawn Eric attended, he made a mad dash for Fox News for a nerf ball interview with Mark Levin. Among Levin’s recent delights was being quoted by Trump, along with an array of other Fox News legal hacks who are working feverishly to convince Trump and his cult followers that he’s winning his case. Eric began the torrid tale of his time at the trial by describing the nightmare he endured (video below)

“Then I get to watch, I sit right behind my father in the first pew as they try to slander him. They try to keep him off the campaign trail. They try to waste his time. They try to destroy his reputation and his image with a nonsense case.”

There is absolutely nothing in those remarks that approach reality. First of all Eric doesn’t identify who he means when he says “they.” Is it the judge? The prosecutors? The Democrats? The Deep State agents of Antifa? Who knows?

Secondly, courts are not commonly referred to as having “pews.” Eric might be confusing it with church, except that neither he nor his dad ever go there either. Third and fourth, this trial isn’t prohibiting Trump from campaigning. He is only in court four days a week. So he has three other days, and every evening, to campaign. Although he has rarely done so. And holding people accountable for crimes is not a waste of time. It’s adherence to law and order and equal justice.

Finally, there is little that any of Eric’s perceived enemies could do to “destroy” Trump’s reputation or image. He does that effectively himself without any help. However, Eric apparently believes that Papa Trump needed some help with his pleading in this case. So he went on to say that…

“No one believes that the Democrats are going after my father for 34 felony counts for a $130,000 retainer to a lawyer that was billed as a retainer to a lawyer, from a lawyer, that was booked as a legal expense.”

Actually, many people believe that Trump has been appropriately charged with 34 felony counts (in this case alone, 88 counts in all) for trying to buy the silence of Stormy Daniels so as not to harm his electoral prospects, and then covering it up by lying about it being a legal expense. Among those who believe that are the judge, who declined to dismiss the case twice, the prosecutor, who filed the charges, the grand jury that issued the indictment, and a majority of the American people.

More to the point, Eric is, in effect, admitting that his father is guilty by claiming that the payoff was a legal expense. That is precisely the crime that he has been charged with. Documentary evidence exists (including a tape recording of Trump and his former attorney/fixer, Michael Cohen) that affirms that Trump made the payment from his personal account to kill a story that would damage his campaign.

Trump has also made similarly incriminating statements wherein he admits that he falsely recorded these payments as legal expenses. So both he and his son are now on record with virtual confessions of guilt. They aren’t denying that the law was broken. They are merely insisting that they have some sort of imperial right to break whatever laws they want. Hopefully the jury will disagree.

Trump and Fox News are Priming the MAGA Cult for Devastating and Dangerous Disappointment

The trial of Donald Trump for election interference and campaign finance fraud (sometimes known as the “Hush Money” trial), has wrapped its fourth week. Throughout that time the prosecution has presented witnesses whose testimony has been credible and severely damaging to Trump’s fading prospects for an acquittal. And the cross examinations by Trump’s defense counsel have been wholly ineffectual, and at times even beneficial to the prosecution.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump Insurrection

Consequently, Trump has resorted to pitifully lame outbursts that range from whining that he is the victim of a “hoax” prosecution that is being run by President Biden (for which he has never provided a shred of evidence), to infantile insults aimed at the judge and other parties to the proceedings. Yet somehow, in the midst of all this seething angst, Trump still babbles about how splendidly everything is going.

SEE THIS: CRYBABY TRUMP Says ‘The Case is Going Fine,’ While Also Whining About How Badly It’s Going

In what has become a staple of Trump’s hallway harangues, he has been brandishing batches of print outs provided by his campaign caretakers. This stack of carefully vetted emotional support documents consists of entirely of articles by Trump’s Fox News flunkies and assorted legal hacks who are unflinchingly devoted to Dear Leader.

This courtside ritual sees Trump rifling through the documents and reciting the names of his TV legal advisers. What it doesn’t do is offer any coherent argument in his defense or evidence of his innocence. He doesn’t even bother to quote from the articles he is flaunting.

However, on Friday Trump posted a series of citations from some these legal “experts” on his floundering social media scam, Truth Social. This should give everyone an idea of why he is so convinced that he will prevail in his criminal cases. Trump began with own fact-free decree of confidence, shouting in all caps that, “THERE IS NO CRIME, ACCORDING TO ALMOST EVERYONE, AND IT IS TOO LATE FOR OUR CORRUPT GOVERNMENT TO CREATE ONE!” What follows are some of the “everyone” to whom he is referring…

  • Jonathan Turley: “This case is becoming legally obscene…Defense doing well, have been all along.”
  • Laura Ingraham: “This is a papered over political hitjob further sullied by Merchan’s overbroad and unconstitutional Gag Order.”
  • Kerri Urbahn, Legal Editor, Fox News: “Not going well for prosecution.”
  • Alan Dershowitz: “Trump’s Trial Will Go Down In The History Books As A Stupendous Legal Catastrophe.”
  • Gregg Jarrett: “This case is a partisan ‘witch hunt’ —a trial in search of an imaginary crime. It can’t be found because it doesn’t exist […] The case against Trump has been on life support.”
  • John Yoo: “Based on everything seen so far, the prosecution has not proven a single element of the ‘crime’!”

Notice that the common denominator of all of these Trump-fluffers is their association with Fox News. And you can add Sean Hannity, Jeanine Pirro, Mark Levin, and Jesse Watters to this list of legal losers. And Trump has blocked out true legal experts such as Lawrence Tribe, Andrew Weissmann, Neal katyal, Joyce Vance, and many others. All of whom regard the prosecution’s case as strong and have no trouble defining the laws that Trump has broken. Even Trump’s own Attorney General, Bill Barr, said that “If even half of what [the indictment] says is true, HE’S TOAST!”

Making matters worse, Watters delivered a monologue Friday night that demonstrated the delusional perspective that permeates the MAGA minions. Ignoring the constant barrage of hostilities emanating from Trump and his confederates, Watters complained that it was actually Democrats who are disgruntled, saying that “There’s a lot of anger, confusion, and sadness, in the Democrat Party.” He didn’t cite any examples of that, but he did make the following ridiculous analogy…

“They wanted to arrest this guy for a decade, and now that he’s in court, and now that they’re in court they’re complaining? Like a dog chasing a car, as soon as they catch it, they don’t know what to do. Democrats aren’t happy no matter what happens.”

Watters included a clip of Trump saying “Has anyone ever noticed that there’s just no happiness on the left? They’re not happy. They’re not happy people.” Which is yet another example of projection by Trump. His congenital unhappiness and anger is a hallmark of his public persona.

UPDATE: Eric Trump was on Mark Levin’s Fox News program Saturday night and disagreed with his father’s assertion that Democrats are not happy…

But that isn’t what’s really troubling about all of this. A much bigger problem is that Trump and Fox News are flagrantly lying about the potential outcome of his trial. They are assuring the cultists that Trump will triumph, when the most likely result is just the opposite. And by pretending that Trump is winning his legal battles, they are setting up the MAGA cult for a crushing disappointment.

That could result in an outburst of civil unrest that could make the January 6th insurrection look like a walk in the park. And that’s exactly why they are doing it. They want riots and violence and hordes of StormTrumpers filling the streets. They haven’t been able to gin that up during the trial – not for lack of trying – but this sort of deception could produce the result they hope for.

The nation’s law enforcement needs to be ready for that should it occur. And the responsibility for any harm must placed on Trump, Fox News, and their political and media accomplices, for their advocacy of violence and their inciting of it by these flagrant lies. They know precisely what they are doing, and what the consequences are. They must not be allowed to get away with it.

Marjorie Taylor Green Scorches Fox News for Wanting ‘To Control What Republican Voters Think’

The magnitude of the maladjustment within today’s Republican Party has reached unprecedented levels of chaos and hostility. And while they unload plenty of vile on their Democratic foes, they frequently aim at one another, ripping themselves to shreds in pursuit of some illusory glory or at least attention.

Click here to Tweet this article

Marjorie Taylor Greene, QAnon

Case in point: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA-MAGA), has been ferociously mauling her GOP confederates, including the leader of her party in the House of Representatives, Speaker Mike Johnson, who she tried unsuccessfully to oust.

SEE THIS: Has Fox News Finally Figured it Out? ‘This is Why Conservatives Call the GOP the Stupid Party’

Not satisfied with that humiliating failure, Greene reached out to the patron taint of MAGA Land, Steve Bannon, to try to enhance her embarrassment by lashing out at the right’s Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News (video below). Greene whined…

So you got to remember Fox News that literally fired Tucker Carlson, the number one cable TV news host in the nation. Tucker, who was basically the voice of everyone, that’s the Fox News that refused to cover me calling the motion to vacate. The Five never switched gears, they never changed, never went to anything different. Fox News wants to control what Republican voters think.

Let’s set aside Greene’s deranged assertion that Tucker Carlson was “the voice of everyone.” And we can likewise ignore her lie that Fox News “refused to cover “ her motion to vacate stunt. Neither of those remarks resemble anything remotely like reality.

What’s notable about Greene’s comments is the part that she surprisingly got right. Fox News does indeed want to control what Republican voters think. And they always have. In fact, it’s pretty much their reason for existing.

However, Greene seems to think that that wasn’t the purpose of the network from its inception, and in partnership with the GOP. She delivers this opinion as criticism. Never mind that she was happy to take advantage of this propaganda machine when it suited her purposes. She went on tell Bannon that…

“They want to make viewers, their viewers think that we have to fight for Ukraine, that we have to stop Putin because he’s gonna steamroll across Europe just like Hitler did even though there’s no evidence of showing that.”

Greene is ignoring the evidence of Putin’s intentions, such as his own words. This is why even Greene’s fellow Republicans have been calling her “Moscow Marjorie.” She continued saying that…

“This is the same Fox News that wants to infuriate you every single day while Republicans go down to the border, drag out the podium once again, point it, oh, look. Look. They’re crossing the border. Oh my goodness. Oh my. But, yeah, Republicans don’t do a damn thing to actually stop it.”

Greene, of course, is a ray of sunshine who never resorts to infuriating her followers. As for the border bill, she was one of the Republicans who voted against a bipartisan solution because Dear Leader Trump told them to. They prefer chaos to solutions because they think they can blame it on President Biden. And she still wasn’t through…

“The Speaker can do anything he wants to do if he’s willing to do it, but we have a speaker that’s weak that a man — an 80-year-old man with dementia is able to fool him. This is where we are.”

That hardly needs a response. Finally, Greene closed saying that…

“Fox News wants to make sure, make sure that you guys don’t have your own opinion, that you only have the opinion that Fox News tells you to have.”

So how is that different than what Fox and the GOP have wanted for years? How is it different from what Greene and Bannon want? The Republican Party is a lockstep organization that has always demanded total fealty to their doctrine, and now to their messia, Donald Trump. Other than new faces, nothing has changed.

Fox News Host is APPALLED that President Biden Wants to Make it Easier for ALL Americans to Vote

The Republican Party, in concert with their aspiring authoritarian Dear Leader, Donald Trump, has long been fiercely opposed to the basic tenets of democracy. They impose flagrantly gerrymandered redistricting, engage in overt voter suppression tactics, oppose early and mail-in voting, and they even staged a violent coup attempt to prevent Congress from certifying President Biden’s election on January 6, 2021.

Fox News, Joe Biden, Fake News

Naturally, the MAGA cult’s Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News, has been the media partner for these anti-American efforts to illegally and unethically interfere with the free and fair administration of elections. Their primary objective is to insure that the GOP candidate is declared the winner, whether or not they got the most votes. And they intend to secure that objective by any means necessary.

SEE THIS: Trump Blows Blatantly Racist Dog Whistles to Motivate MAGA Voter Intimidation Squads in 2024

On Fox News Wednesday night, Jesse Watters provided additional proof of the nefarious blueprint for the right’s theft of elections. He floated a crackpot conspiracy theory that it’s Democrats who are plotting to skew election outcomes by – get this – encouraging people to vote.

“Biden’s using tax dollars to register Democrats to vote in the election. You say ‘Wait Jessie.’ He wants everyone to register to vote. No, no, no. He’s targeting people who interact with the federal government. People who are dependent on government assistance. Families who get food stamps. Families in the free lunch program. Families who get free health care. Homeless people. Is this a demographic you’d consider traditionally Republican? I don’t know. Maybe.”

OH NOES! Biden is concocting schemes to make it easier for millions of Americans to vote. And notice that every example that Watters lists is about lower income “families.” Apparently he thinks that “those” people shouldn’t be voting. Like most Republicans, he believes that voting should be reserved for rich, white landowners.

As if that weren’t bad enough, Watters wonders whether the family profiles in his rant would be considered “traditionally Republican.” Why? Is that his criteria for enabling easy access to voting? What’s more, Watters appears think that only Democrats benefit from government programs that provide assistance with food and healthcare.

He’s wrong. Many conservative residents of red states receive such benefits. And many of them are even Fox News viewers. Furthermore, those programs also provide additional benefits for the nation by putting funds into the hands of consumers who will spend them on goods and services, stimulating the economy.

Consequently, any opposition to the voter registration initiatives that Watters is complaining about would likely backfire on him and his GOP confederates. It would alienate the millions of Americans in rural districts who rely on the government aid that offends Watters and his Republican pals. It would also be a risky political move considering that polls show that a majority of voters want such programs increased, not cut.

So the more that Watters and Fox News and the Trumpists whine about cutting these programs, and preventing recipients from voting, the more voters will be likely to support Democrats. The American people know who is on their side. And it isn’t the party that wants to cut Social Security, Medicare, and other programs that give families a chance to thrive.

Fox News Reports on Trump’s Wisconsin Jobs Con Job, But Leaves Out Biden’s Booming Success

In July of 2017, Donald Trump made a big deal out of an announcement that Foxconn, a Taiwanese electronics manufacturer, would be building a new factory in Wisconsin. This project was touted by Trump as “the eighth wonder of the world,” that would create 13,000 new jobs.

Click here to Tweet this article

Fox News, Joe Biden

Unfortunately, like most Trump promises, this one evaporated into the ether. But not before costing the state of Wisconsin and the communities where the plant was supposed to be built hundreds of millions of dollars in preparations that were all for naught. That outcome is consistent with the historic failure of Trump’s jobs record as president. Contrast that with President Biden’s record of historic job creation.

SEE THIS: The Biden-Harris Campaign Trolls Trump and Fox News on Truth Social with ‘Blowout’ Jobs Report

On Tuesday Biden announced that the vacant land that was supposed to be the site of the Foxconn project would actually be put to use. In a new agreement with Microsoft, a factory manufacturing A.I. technology products would be built producing thousands of new jobs. It was made possible by Biden’s passage of his Infrastructure bill and the CHIPS Act that have already created millions of American jobs. Biden spoke about the new project with a sly nod to Trump’s failure saying that…

“He came here with your senator, Ron Johnson, literally holding a golden shovel, promising to build the eighth wonder of the world. You kidding me? Look what happened. They dug a hole with those golden shovels, and then they fell into it.”

On Tuesday morning Fox News had a brief discussion about these developments. And the “Curvy Couch” potatoes of Fox and Friends actually brushed the margins of some factual reporting.

Steve Doocy: So Peter, this new A.I. Microsoft thing – $3 billion dollars, big job creator – that’s in Racine. Isn’t that the same town that Foxconn said – I don’t know, five or six years ago – we’re gonna build a big plant and they never did?
Peter Doocy: Yes, and that was a huge Trump announcement back then. And he said the factory was gonna be the eighth wonder of world. But then Foxconn decided to really scale back their plans and the land is still available. So Microsoft is going in.
Steve Doocy: It’s gonna be good for those people.

It’s notable that Fox News even brought up the subject. Ordinarily, any news that might reflect positively on Biden goes directly into the Fox dumpster. So perhaps some gratitude should be shown for bothering to talk about it.

However, the Fox crew left out some significant details. They described the failed Foxconn project as one that “Foxconn decided to really scale back.” They never bothered to attribute the failure to Trump and his incompetence in not securing more assurances that the project would be completed. They also never bothered to even mention Biden’s name or give him credit for helping to secure the new agreement with Microsoft.

Other than that, it’s probably the best that could be hoped for from Fox News. At least they didn’t blame Biden for the Foxconn failure and credit Trump with the Microsoft project. Every so often some truthful information leaks through the avalanche of lies that Fox produces.

SEE THIS: On Fox News Jessica Tarlov Summarizes the Success of Bidenomics that the Media Refuses to Cover

In the meantime, we can expect Republicans in the state, including Sen. Johnson, to take credit for themselves at the groundbreakings, despite having voted against the bills in Congress that made it possible. And Fox News will invite them on to brag about it. In other words, business as usual for the GOP and Fox News.

Blurring the Lines: Fox News Host Warns Trump: Do Not Choose a VP Who Won’t Appear on My Show

The 2024 presidential election continues to unfold in bizarre and unprecedent ways. Most notably, the nominee of the Republican Party, Donald Trump, is currently spending his days in a New York courtroom on trial for 34 felony counts of election interference and campaign finance fraud. And that’s just the beginning of Trump’s legal woes that include at least 54 more felonies in three other jurisdictions.

Donald Trump Fox News

In what has been called the “Hush Money” case, due to Trump’s payment of $130,000.00 to buy the silence of porn star Stormy Daniels, the former reality TV game show host has been seen outside the court whining about what a pitiful victim he is, and inside the court scowling and nodding off during the proceedings.

SEE THIS: Trump Finally Wakes Up Long Enough to Deny that He’s Been Sleeping During His Criminal Trial

Meanwhile, Trump’s campaign progresses in fits and starts with speculation as to who he might select as his running mate. Those vying to become the lead Trump-fluffers include Kristi Noem, Tim Scott, Marco Rubio, Vivek Ramaswamy, Elise Stefanik, Byron Donalds, Kari Lake, and JD Vance. And the oddsmakers for who Trump eventually chooses are all over the map. Suffice to say that the one who gets the rose will be the one who is most willing to abandon all integrity and honesty in favor of unflinching loyalty to Dear Leader.

However, Fox News has emerged as a new factor in determining Trump’s number two. Further affirming that Fox News is the official propaganda arm of the Republican Party and the MAGA Cult, Fox News host Mark Levin has inserted himself into the vice-presidential selection process. On his program Monday Levin said that…

“If there’s somebody who claims to be a conservative and won’t come on this program, then my advice to [former] President Trump is do not choose them as your running mate. If they’re not willing to come on this program and talk to me and I speak to them on your behalf — don’t you agree, mister producer? — that’s a telltale sign that they have a problem with you, millions and millions and millions of you.”

Levin is going much farther than blurring the lines between media and politics. He is totally erasing them. He is appointing himself as the gatekeeper for one of the most consequential decisions a presidential candidate can make. And he is setting as the criteria for his own decision whether or not a VP hopeful submits to appearing on his program. Failure to do so results in being removed from consideration, at least by Levin.

It’s hard to imagine anything more inappropriate and self-serving by a political pundit. From his perch on TV and radio, Levin is assuming an acting role in Trump’s campaign. Any credible media enterprise that employs him would immediately terminate him. Lucky for him he doesn’t work for any credible media enterprise. As an alternative, perhaps his salary, and/or the value of the airtime he consumes, should be reportable as an in-kind donation to Trump’s campaign.

Levin’s disgraceful behavior isn’t the only example of Fox’s flagrant biases. Sean Hannity has actually appeared on stage at Trump rallies. Laura Ingraham is relentlessly fawning. And most of the rest of the Fox roster embraces Trump with shameless adoration. The network serves as the PR division of the Trump campaign and continues to make it abundantly clear that they have no interest in being a legitimate news organization. And in that respect: Mission Accomplished.

Trump Fixates on Fox News Phonies While Lying that a Gag Order Prohibits Him from Testifying

The third week of Donald Trump’s trial for election interference and campaign finance fraud (sometimes known as the “Hush Money” trial), began with a bang on Monday morning. Judge Juan Merchan slapped Trump with another contempt of court violation (his tenth) for violating the gag order that was previously imposed. The judge also warned Trump that further violations could result in a jail sentence.

As usual, Trump paused outside of court to whine to the press about what a pathetic victim he is. It was essentially the same remarks that he delivers on every one of these occasions. He is stuck in a tape loop that repeats ad nauseum. It’s hard to imagine why the press even bothers to show up. At this point they should just send interns to record his staged pseudo-campaign comments. Because they are flagrantly exploitative and there is rarely ever anything newsworthy in them.

On Monday morning Trump responded briefly to a reporter’s question about whether he will testify in his defense (video below). He has previously said that he would “absolutely” do so, but subsequently backtracked, making ludicrous excuses such as his utterly false assertion that a gag order prohibits him from testifying. Trump and his lawyer were later admonished in court for that lie. But that correction does not seem to have stuck. He responded saying that…

“We have a gag order as to that first question. As you know they’ve taken away my constitutional rights. So I’m not allowed to answer that question. This has never happened in this country before. It’s a ridiculous thing. It’s a ridiculous thing. I did nothing wrong. Absolutely nothing wrong.”

Of course, as he well knows, it is simply untrue that he is not allowed to testify, or that his constitutional rights have been violated. The truth is that he is scared witless of testifying and being ripped to shreds by the prosecuting attorneys. He also knows that if he testifies he will likely perjure himself, because he is incapable of speaking for more than few seconds without lying. Trump continued his testy tirade with what he believes were affirmations of his innocence by a phalanx of Fox News legal hacks, telling reporters to…

“Take a look at Gregg Jarrett this morning. Take a look at Andrew McCarthy, or Jonathan Turley, or Mark Levin. It’s like, they say there’s no case here. And yet the judge has gagged me and I’m not allowed to talk about the gag. It’s total conflict. The judge is totally conflict. He’s totally conflicted. And you ought to take a look at…and I’m not supposed to be talking about it. But I am allowed to say that that the judge is in conflict like nobody’s ever had before. Just take a look at it. He’s taken away my constitutional right to speak.”

It is not coincidental that every one of the legal “geniuses” that Trump named are regulars on Fox News. And it’s not the first time he’s done this either. Where else could he get such uniformly sycophantic adulation that has zero basis in the law? And Trump was prepared with this list of testimonials because he had posted thirty (30!) comments on Sunday on Truth Social by these same legal “experts,” as well as other Trump cult spokespersons like Jim Jordan and Hugh Hewitt. None of whom provided any coherent legal arguments to exonerate their Dear Leader. Trump concluded his remarks by complaining that…

“It’s a fake trial. They have no case. And it’s been absolutely proven now. They have no case whatsoever. This is Alvin Bragg doing it for political reasons for Biden. This is a Biden trial. He’s a crooked President.”

If it were true that “it’s been absolutely proven” that prosecutors “have no case,” Trump would be a lot more confidant now. He wouldn’t be consumed by anxiety and fear. Clearly he’s aware of the legal peril that he’s in. So he lashes out the only way he knows how. With lies and allegations about his political foes, especially President Biden. And despite his frequent and failed prior attempts to peddle this nonsense, he still seems to think that people are going to buy it. That’s what happens when someone is mired in psychotically narcissistic delusions. Poor thing.

Wannabe Dictator Donald Trump Accuses President Biden of Running a ‘Gestapo Administration’

The variety and severity of psychoses observed on Donald Trump should long ago have been determined to be sufficient to disqualify him from serving as president of the United States. Hell, they should be sufficient to disqualify him from serving the lunch crowd at Appleby’s. His malignant narcissism alone is responsible for his raging hostility and delusional self-exaltation.

Donald Trump Tyrant Dictator

Trump has also been known to exhibit symptoms of psychological projection, a defense mechanism wherein negative thoughts and feelings about oneself are attributed to others. For instance, when Trump maligns President Biden as “Sleepy Joe,” or Ted Cruz as “Lying’ Ted,” he is effectively confessing to his own lethargy and dishonesty.

On Saturday Trump supplied one of his most flagrant examples of projection. It came during a speech before a group of wealthy Republican donors at his Mar-a-Lago bunker. These speeches, and his cult rallies, are what Trump considers “campaigning.” He never actually engages with ordinary citizens to solicit their support. His audiences are always assemblies of pre-vetted adorers.

These sorts of staged public appearances allow Trump to ramble incoherently without concern for facts, civility, or anything resembling sanity. On this occasion Trump lashed out at his favorite target, President Biden. And as usual, his criticisms were merely a barrage of infantile insults intended solely to smear Biden without any association to reality. Leading his verbal vilification was an utterly inappropriate reference to Nazi Germany. As reported by NBC News (via Business Insider)…

“‘These people are running a Gestapo administration,’ Trump said, according to audio of the luncheon provided to NBC News. ‘And it’s the only thing they have. And it’s the only way they’re going to win in their opinion.'”

The obvious projection in this commentary is that Trump himself has promised to be “a dictator on day one,” should he return to his occupation of the White House. He has also threatened to suppress the media, terminate the Constitution, and stage rigged trials against his political foes.

Biden, meanwhile, has never exhibited any of the tendencies that could be associated with the authoritarianism that Trump clearly aspires to. Among the faults that Trump enumerated in his speech were several that don’t apply to Biden in any way, but which describe Trump perfectly. Textbook projection. Such as that Biden…

  • Is the worst president in the history of our country.
Nope, that’s Trump according to a survey of presidential historians.
  • He’s grossly incompetent.
See Trump’s deadly COVID mismanagement. As well as his economic and foreign policies.
  • He’s crooked as hell.
Trump is currently facing 88 felony charges.
  • He’s the Manchurian candidate.
Trump has no idea what a “Manchurian Candidate” means.
  • He accepts massive amounts of money from China, from Russia, from Ukraine and many other countries.
Again, that’s Trump, with actual receipts from his benefactors. He has literally bragged about it.

Trump’s references to the Gestapo are offensive, not just because they are so blatantly false, but because they trivialize the actual atrocities committed by the Nazis. And he can’t cite a single thing that would connect Biden to such horrors. However, Trump has a well documented affinity for tyrants such as Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong Un, and Xi Jinping. He boasts about how well he gets along with them and praises (and envies) what he calls their strength.

What’s more, Trump frequently uses Hitler’s rhetoric in his speeches, calling his adversaries “vermin” who are “poisoning the blood of the country.” It has even been reported by his former wife, Ivana, that he kept a book of Hitler’s speeches by his bedside. And this is the guy who says that Biden is running a Gestapo administration? Really?
